*Sound Installation: « DIRECT TO THE HEART »*

The immersive installation Direct to the Heart transforms the abstract notion of the end into an intimate and inescapable sensory phenomenon. Upon entering the space, you become the central element: the target that completes and activates the work.

At the center, a bow draws an arrow. A sophisticated device, equipped with a motion sensor, monitors the space. With the viewer’s presence, the mechanism automatically comes to life: the bow is fired. In the precise instant of release, two simultaneous events radically transform perception:

A reverberating, dry, sharp, and piercing sound resonates through the space. It is the sound of the released bowstring, of the arrow hurtling toward its invisible destination. An acoustic burst that physically impacts the body.

Darkness invades the room as the light is extinguished at the moment of the shot, plunging the viewer-target into uncertainty and disorientation.

The arrow in motion, though not physical, feels real. The sudden darkness accentuates vulnerability. The work confronts the viewer with their own finitude: the certainty that, at any moment, anyone can become the target. It is not merely an installation to observe; it is an experience to be endured, a palpable metaphor for human fragility in the face of the unpredictable and the terminal. Direct to the Heart does not target the body, but rather the awareness of our precarious existence.

The work as a metaphor for existential fragility and the consciousness of death.
